I can still remember that Sunday night dread – that used to hit me at 4 in the afternoon – over going to work in a job I hated.
Come Monday I’d trudge off into the rain almost dragging my feet with thousands of commuters all trying to ignore each other. I’d sit through a day of boring solitude and trudge back in the evening for a bit of solace only to do it all again on Tuesday.
I can lie in bed writing emails on my phone.
I can choose to change my plans for the day and work on my business, not someone else’s, And not have a boss breathing down my neck in judgement.
I can fit my life around my job.
I’m a lucky fucker.
Because I chose to be.
I work with people I enjoy, people that challenge me, many of whom I call my friends.
So Mondays are a joy.
Tomorrow I start work with someone who has almost all the traits of my ideal client.
Seems like I’m attracting them now.
